Six Covens are available in Witchspire at EA launch. Each Coven is a class archetype with a unique signature spell, a talent tree, and a distinct role in co-op. Below is the complete list — open any Coven for the full deep-dive, or jump straight to the data-driven Coven tier list.
Frontline Tank · Tier S
Pact-bound swamp druids who turn the battlefield into a healing bog. Excels in solo play and as a co-op anchor.
Read Mirewarden guide →Burst DPS · Tier S
Pyromaniac pyromancers who spec into Ignite stacks. Highest single-target burst in the current patch.
Read Emberkin guide →Support / Summoner · Tier A
Loom-weaving witches who bind Familiars to amplified roles. Multiplies the entire party’s output.
Read Threadmaiden guide →Ranged DPS / Debuffer · Tier A
Shadow-aligned casters who debuff enemy resistances. Excellent for boss melt in coordinated groups.
Read Gloamcaller guide →Hybrid DPS / Healer · Tier B
Ocean-witch hybrid who can swap to a tidal heal at the Hearth. Flexible, but not the best at either role.
Read Tidecaller guide →Defender / Builder · Tier B
Earth-bonded witches focused on Hearth structures. Best base-builder in the game; weakest in raw combat.
Read Stonekin guide →A Coven is Witchspire’s term for a class. When you start a new character you pick a Coven, and that choice defines your signature spell, your talent tree, and the role you’ll fill in co-op. Unlike most survival RPGs, you can change Coven at any Hearth by paying a Spirit Dust cost — so no choice is truly permanent.
Each Coven has six talent ranks, unlocked by earning Coven XP from combat, crafting, and exploration. Rank 5 unlocks the Coven’s ultimate passive; Rank 6 (the max) is a cosmetic-only reward.
