A witch at a glowing cauldron — Witchspire's gift-giving scene
Gift-giving. Every romanceable NPC has a favorite gift. Doubles (like the Brine Pearl) are the most efficient to farm.

How romance works in Witchspire

Witchspire has 6 romanceable NPCs at EA launch. You raise affection by giving them their favorite gifts and completing their personal quests. At max affection, you unlock a unique dialogue scene and (in some cases) a permanent gameplay bonus like a unique Familiar or broom upgrade.

Affection is per-NPC, not per-Coven. You can romance every NPC in a single playthrough, but you can only “lock in” the secret ending with one.

Best gifts to stockpile early

Some gifts are also useful for crafting, so the most efficient strategy is to farm gifts that pull double duty. Top picks:

  • Brine Pearl — used in many combat recipes AND Talin’s favorite gift. Farm the Brine Coast.
  • Mosscloth Bolt — used in many mid-tier recipes AND Mira’s favorite gift. Farm Mosscloth in the Mossfells.
  • Iron Ingot (masterwork) — used in the Coven Shrine upgrade AND Rook’s favorite gift. Craft at the Refining Bench.

Affection-raising tips

  • Give gifts once per in-game day. Spamming gifts doesn’t work.
  • Personal quests are worth +30% affection — always finish them.
  • Some NPCs only spawn at certain times of day. Check the in-game time.
  • The fastest gift farm is the Veiled Steppes Luminary circuit — drop the gift at the NPC’s feet before resetting.

Secret ending requirements

The secret ending requires max affection with the NPC of your choice + Coven rank 5 + the “Spire Climber” achievement. See the achievements guide for the full unlock path.
