Time to max Hearth
Reaching Hearth level 20 takes roughly 60 hours of active play in Patch 0.1.4. Roughly 70% of that is farming, the rest is boss clears and the main quest.
Step-by-step route
- Levels 1 → 5 (~5 hours): just play the main quest. The Hearth XP from quests alone will get you to level 5.
- Levels 5 → 8 (~10 hours): craft every recipe you can, build every Hearth structure. The Hearth XP from crafting is the biggest source at this tier.
- Levels 8 → 10 (~8 hours): farm the Spire Arbiter pre-quests. Each mini-boss gives +1 Hearth XP chunk. The Feather of the Gloom Matriarch drops here for the Spire Gate.
- Levels 10 → 15 (~15 hours): the mid-game grind. Focus on the Veiled Steppes Luminary circuit for Spirit Dust. See our Spirit Dust farming guide.
- Levels 15 → 20 (~22 hours): the late-game grind. Run 6-player co-op Hard mode boss farms. The Spire Arbiter is the biggest single Hearth XP source.

Fastest material farms
- Spirit Dust — Veiled Steppes Luminary circuit, ~220/hour solo, ~1,200/hour 6-player.
- Iron Ingot — Stonefalls Iron Ore, ~80/hour.
- Lumin Shard — Luminary bosses (level 8 Heart vendor also sells 1/day for 500 Spirit Dust).
- Brine Pearl — Brine Coast night farm, ~4/hour solo, ~10/hour 6-player.
Why max Hearth is worth it
Hearth level 20 is purely cosmetic past level 10, but the path to level 20 unlocks the Spire Gate (level 10), the Coven Shrine (level 8), and 5 Familiar slots (level 6). All three are essential for end-game play.
